AURELIA’S GARDEN IS IN THE WAYLAND POST

Tucked away in rural Wayland, a small farm operates with a singular mission: providing fresh, nutritious vegetables to people with limited access to healthy produce. Aurelia’s Garden supplies five food pantries — Open Table in Maynard, Sudbury Food Pantry, Medway Village, Daniel’s Table in Framingham, and La Colaborativa in Chelsea — with organically grown vegetables. VOLUNTEER ANI OURFALIAN WRITES ABOUT AURELIA’S GARDEN IN THE ARMENIAN WEEKLY

My name is Ani Ourfalian, and I have been a scout for the past 10 years at the Homenetmen Boston chapter. Over the last two years, I have worked toward one of the highest achievements in our scouting program called the Vgayal gark, which is the fifth of six rankings an Armenian scout can earn. Currently, only one scout in the Eastern region of the United States holds this rank, so achieving it would be a great honor. (read more)

FEEDING MASSACHUSETTS: AURELIA’S GARDENS DONATE THEIR HARVEST

Down dirt roads and paths, in raised beds and fields, behind churches and historic buildings, people are growing vegetables and fruit and giving them away for free. A few are paid farmers, some are master gardeners, many are volunteers; all are people who want to connect with the land and to give back, working in the fields to help with hunger relief while planting, growing and harvesting a community amongst themselves.
